Bali Thirteen Lines Museum
More than a thousand years ago, the residents on the left bank of the Tamsui River lived in Ganlan houses, using clay pots with human face, and their daily diet was fish, shrimp and shellfish from the sea. Their way of life is not what we can imagine today, but one or two can be glimpsed from the Thirteen Lines Museum. In 1955, an Air Force plane passed over Bali. The compass on the plane had an abnormal magnetic response and found the site of the 13th line. Then geologists and archaeologists came to explore and discovered that this is a prehistoric site, and this archeological museum was also established.

Red Hair CityAt the beginning of the seventeenth century, the Spaniards who saw the superior geographical position of Taiwan built the city of Santo Domingo on the hills near the mouth of the Danshui River after entering Tamsui. Afterwards, the Dutch who repelled the Spaniards, and then rebuilt a stronger walled city near the site of Santo Domingo, Fort Sant Antoni. Foreigners who come to Taiwan have long voyages and their hair is lighter and reddish. Therefore, most of the Pingpu people call foreigners Hongmaofan, and Hongmaocheng where Hongmao lives. The Red Hair City in the Dutch period was shining brightly. In the Ming and Zheng period, Danshui was a place where prisoners were exiled, and Red Hair City was also a ruined city. It was not until the beginning of the Qing Dynasty that Taiwan was officially included in the territory of the Qing Dynasty, and Hongmao City once again became a fortress at the mouth of the Tamsui River, but the Qing army did not manage it too much. After the battle of the Anglo-French Allied Forces at the end of the Qing Dynasty, the port of Tamsui was opened. The British rented the city of Red Hair as the British consulate and built a consular residence on the east side of the main fort. The city of Red Hair became warm again and became a place for communication with people from all over the world. When the Second World War broke out, the Japanese army declared war on Britain and the United States. Taiwan was ruled by the Japanese at that time, and the British consulate was closed. After the war, the British returned to Hung Mao City until the Sino-British severance of diplomatic relations. Afterwards, Hongmao City went through many twists and turns, and it was once entrusted to Australia and the United States to manage it, and finally it was officially taken over by the Republic of China in 1980. The nearly four hundred years of history of exchanges between Taiwan and the world is witnessed by the city of Red Hair, like a stage play on a venue.

Freshwater Street
Tamsui Old Street includes Reconstruction Street, Zhongzheng Road and Qingshui Street. Most people think that Zhongzheng Road is the earliest street in Danshui, but in the history of the development of Danshui District, the reconstruction street is the first street to be formed. The development of Tamsui started from the Fuyou Palace area. The reconstruction of the street is convenient for the location. To the south, it leads to the Tamsui Wharf in front of the Fuyou Palace, and to the north, you can reach the rural settlement of Tamsui. At that time, it was a bustling street with many shops. It is an extremely important "Tsui Tamsui First Street".
